On government forms, what race are people from India cled as?

An article I was reading from 'The Charles Darwin Institute' was comparing the societies of what they described as the 3 major races: African, White, and Oriental.......it cled people from Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and of course China, Japan and Korea as Oriental.........but I was wondering where people from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka fit in. These 'Indian' people ovbiously dont look like Africans, Whites or Mongoloid, and they range from complexions that are just as light as whites, to complexions as dark as African people. So I was just wondering what people from India are cled as.
