What do you think about gossip girls ad?
OMFG! Though our media has already done its job in completely demoralizing , Gossip Girls new ad is so extreme its bordering laughable. If you have ever tuned into the show and have any sort of generating brain power you can see the show for what it really is: a fake. The one episode I did tune in for showed a character creating an “inexpensive” 5o dollar gift for her boyfriend. Instead of buying the boy a lifetime supply of coffee via Starbucks card or picking up latest video game, she instead decorates a room, in some unmentioned place, with paper snowflakes and blah blah blah, and then they have , because gossip girl is based on real life this sort of thing happens all the time, big rooms with only a large bed smack in the middle are often available for on Christmas. The show is mindless and I wouldn’t even care, if the show would keep its mindlessness in its own time slot. However, in true Hollywood fashion a new ad campaign has come out and it advertises the true meaning of the show, the real heart and purpose of it all: . Plastered everywhere is the ad of two characters having “amazing” , OMFG , what you all should be having if your not (by the way). As a culture we should all be shocked, and if not shocked severely offended. The show gallivants its self around, “look what great they are having on this show”, what about all the grown people out there who have sense enough to know that in high school is lame and never gives anyone a true OMFG moment. As a 19 year old girl, I am extremely tired of people telling me my life is not good enough, I am not rich enough, pretty enough, thin enough, well dressed enough, having enough , having enough OMFG , I am nothing enough. But news flash to CW I am smart enough to not buy into all your crap, and I am just crazy enough to try and live in a world without it.
