How to tell if a guy likes me for me or my looks?

okay so we had a thing wen we were younger and we recently met up at a portuguese feast.. we talked and hit it off && we began talking on facebook numbers were exchanged and he talked about wanting to make out and all sorts of crap.. then comes to find out that him and his gf of a year just broke up.. wow i feel lke ther rebound but he says other wise.. its been a month and we are still talking and im starting to actually like him... and we constantly flirt.. but hes alwayssss talking about how pretty i am and wanting to hold me in his arms and all kinds of stuff.. is it me he likes or the idea of havibg a new girlfriend or my looks.. i just dont know.. oh yeah and in between this month he was like i cant do this i loveee my ex blah blah && then we just got over that i guesss.. i dnt know helpp
